Ultimate X 2015 – Gopro Video

If you missed this event, you were sleeping! Absolutely the best locally produced action sports event in South African history. I was lucky enough to host the event and thus got to see most of this action up close and personal, but for those of you who missed out, GoPro have made a great video for you to check out. I guarantee once you watch this, you will not miss the show again! Skate, FMX, BMX and Brian Capper going nuts on his trial bike.

Kelly & John John dominate Day 3 at the Volcom Pipe Pro

Kelly Slater and John Joh Florence put on a show at Pipeline and Backdoor to firmly stamp their intentions on winning the Volcom Pipe Pro in 2015. The defending champion, Slater was in classic form, taking off deep on backdoor bombs and making impossible tubes. JJ was not to be outdone and as the swell waned later in the day he took to finishing his tubes with massive airs. SA surfer, Dale Staples, got through his Round 3 heat behind Kelly, but could not carry that momentum through Round 4.

With a pretty variable forecast, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the Volcom Pipe Pro plays out.

AMA Supercross West Round 2 Phoenix

So early in the year and we already have seen Round 2 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross go down at Chase Field, in Phoenix. Off the back of a mediocre performance in Round 1 it was Number 17, Cooper Webb, leading 11 of the 15 laps, to take the win in the 250sx class for his first win. Number 34, Malcolm Stewart led 4 laps but could not keep up with Cooper and finished second. There were also some solid battles further back in the field and a crazy start. In the 450sx class there was a titanic battle up front between Number 3, Eli Tomac and Number 94 Ken Roczen. Eli led 17 of the 20 laps, but Ken was right there for most of the race. Eli Tomac with the best qualifying time, the hole shot and then he pulled away from Roczen for his first win in the premier class. Check out the race highlights…

Mr Price Pro Day 1 #ActionUpdate

A great first day at Ballito for the Mr Price Pro with some tubes in the morning and super fun bowls through the day. Biggest disappointment was Beyrick de Vries getting knocked out on a priority interference, after he dominated his heat, which was the highest scoring heat of the day! South Africans through to Round 2 were Jordy Smith, Travis Logie and young gun, Davey van Zyl. Check out all the action…
