Winter XGames Norway Gold

The Xgames Winter edition in Norway has been going down and there have been some insane performances. Mark McMorris coming from the death to take Big Air Gold in the snowboard, Henrik Harlaut absolutely blowing away the other men in the Ski Big Air, a last run win for Sven Thorgren in the Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle and then what has to be the number 1 pick, Shaun White, getting a perfect 100 score in the Super Pipe for Gold. Seriously, does this guy not stop? Enjoy the vids…

X Games Day 1 – Snowboard Halfpipe Insanity

Ok so the first day of X Games Aspen is behind us and what a day it was. There was snowmobile action, Ski Slopestyle, Ski Halfpipe and probably the most anticipated event of the year, the men’s Snowboard Pipe. All eyes were on the return of the flying tomato, Shaun White, but it was the youngsters who held him back and he finished in 3rd. Taka Hiraoka from japan busted some solid tricks with incredible elevation to secure silver. Repeating his victory from last year, it was Danny Davis winning the Gold. I loved Danny’s run, great mix of old and new and especially the monster McTwist to start.

Dual Super Pipe Contest – Red Bull Snowboarding

Can I just say, it is about time this happened. I can remember having this conversation with a group of SA Snowboarders a few years back and it took a long time before anyone actually did it.

This landmark snowboarding competition featured twin super pipes built side-by-side. The riders held nothing back as they aired fearlessly between the two halfpipes at the first ever Double Pipe contest. Check out some of the highlights from this groundbreaking event! Well done to Taylor Gold, the first winner in this new format.
