Red Bull X-Fighters stepped it up in a major way at the first event ever in Greece. Alley-oop flairs, 360 Supermans, and Bike Flips?! Guess that’s what it takes nowadays to compete with the world’s best in FMX. The level of progression has blown out of the water, and Red Bull X-Fighters Athens was proof in the pudding. Take a look back at the event recap, and big ups to Clinton Moore for his second consecutive win.
Remember that X_fighters comes to Pretoria at the Union Buildings on the 12th September 2015. Tickets start from R295 and are available at Computicket. For more information, please visit: www.redbullxfighters.com
Wow, what an event. Seriously brought home to me why Supercross is the best racing to watch. You get the whole track perspective, instead of just a part of the course, you see tight and fast racing, massive crashes, big jumps and loads of extras like an FMX show featuring Bilko and of course the gorgeous Monster Girls. I was lucky enough to experience the event on the ground, behind the scenes, on track and alongside the gals. Here is my video of the experience.
Get online and make noise, as it looks good for 2 Supercross Africa events next year and you want them in your city!
Big thanks to Wohza (GoPro Africa) and Monster Energy for the assistance.

What a year it has turned out to be for dirt bike enthusiasts in South Africa. First we finally got to see XFighters and the top FMX riders on the planet and now thanks to Monster Energy, we not only have brand new national Superbike and MX series, but on the 01 November 2014, we get to see real deal Supercross in a Stadium for the first time in well over a decade. Monster Supercross will go down at Loftus Versveld in Pretoria and the track layout looks serious, as in America serious!
In what has been described as “the most physically demanding sport in existence”, the event will challenge the world’s best riders on an intricately designed and physically demanding Supercross track, featuring tons of dirt and sculpted obstacles. Fans can look forward to jaw dropping displays of skill and speed by their favorite champions as they negotiate huge triple jumps and tight turns on powerful bikes, while engaging in Extreme Racing.
By hosting it at Loftus stadium, every fan will get an upfront view from their seat as riders rip it up in the ultimate adrenalin event.
Practice laps and qualifying heats will kick off the event at 5pm, followed by a 30 minute FMX (Freestyle Motocross) display. The Event’s Final races will be held after Sunset to allow for the full Lights, Pyrotechnics and Racing to reach a spectacular climax.
It is going to be an incredible event! Ticket prices are super reasonable too, so head over to the official website to find out more – www.supercrossafrica.co.za
What a weekend in Pretoria! After waiting patiently for the XFighters to finally arrive in South Africa, the 50th event did not let us down. The course at the Union Buildings was gigantic and the backdrop made for some incredible images and memories. With Levi Sherwood and Josh Sheehan battling for the Tour crown, it was also always going to be a massive event. With Levi crashing in qualifying, Sheehan was left to win or lose the title and he pretty much dominated every heat right through to the final. He was the top qualifier, he won every heat with every award and in the end no one could even slow him down on his way to the podium. Danny Torres and Adam Jones (See picture) came in second and third.
This was a truly monumental event and I cannot wait for next year!

It has been a great first week on the Dew Tour Bootcamp. We headed through the Big Smoke last week with stops at Tuks and Sandton Varsity College and the boys were on fire. With some of SA’s top BMX and Skate stars the crowds have been getting world class performances at both the venues. Moe Peters and Dave Rigby pushed some serious limits on the BMX high jump at Tuks, but so far my stand out is skater, Adam Woolf, who busted the BMX High Jump at Tuks and did a huge Gap transfer at Sandton. We are in Durban for the week and then off to Cape Town. Check out the video highlights from the North – I think you will agree the riding is world class!
