Mr Casual returns with another Kai Neville creation. Craig Anderson has to be the most understated surfer, but when he gets in the water it is all style and flare. Watch this film and glory in the flashbacks to another era, mixed with the most modern of maneuvers.
Craig, “Driving across Australia. Hunting uncrowded waves. I like how hard the spots are to get too. I like being mysto in the desert. I like being in the jungle.”
Don’t we all wish we could earn a living travelling the globe doing what we love? Cape Town surfer, Brendon Gibbens, is living the dream as he gets paid to free surf and film surf movies. The Cape native finds himself based out of California these days and spends a lot of time on the road shooting for big wigs like, Kai Neville, but he still comes home for a visit now and then. This video was shot while home recently and the photo by Alan van Gysen at a Cape, big tube, beachy!
Surfing is progressing at a high pace with guys like Jordy Smith, Dane Reynolds, Julian Wilson, Gabriel Medina, John John Florence and the Maui brigade led by Albee Layer, pushing what is possible in the air and the water. Stab Magazine have been running a Web Series, Fly me to the Moon, chronicling aerial surfing and this is the latest episode.
Stab and Carlton Dry offer the newest piece from our Fly Me to the Moon joint, a 10(ish) part documentary about what happen in the airspace above lips in 2013. This episode is all about what high performance surfing will look like five years from now.
Starring Craig Anderson, Josh Kerr, Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow, Julian Wilson, Kolohe Andino and Kai Neville.
We all love free stuff and even better when a free surf film!
About: FROM THE DIRECTORS OF DEAR SUBURBIA…
The world is filled with distractions. everything around us blinks, rings, sings, shouts, distracts, vibrates, reminds, likes, comments and down- loads. the chaos and beauty of the world is being overshadowed by technological distractions and tweets that possess no lasting significance outside the screen they’re displayed.
Anything sing is our attempt to rise above that chaos by creating our own environments and settings. on different surfaces. new canvases. on concrete. on walls. on water. on arms, with ink. something permanent. Like moments.
