The insanity levels continue this season in snowboarding with Max Parrot landing the world’s first Switch Quadruple Underflip 1620.

Snowboarding is now moving into the realm of what was thought impossible just a few years ago with the top riders landing tricks that were thought the realm of video game fantasy recently.

The scary thing is that the boundaries seem to be getting pushed harder and faster than ever as more tricks are landed. Where to next…

Monster Energy teamed up with Whistler Blackcomb to build the proper feature for Max to assist in the progression of snowboarding.

“It was a dream for me when I first started competing internationally, to push the boundaries of snowboarding.

I have been visualising this trick for a few months and when the opportunity presented itself this season thanks to Monster Energy & Whistler Blackcomb, I felt it was the right time”

Snowboarding Game changes at the Burton US Open

Wow! I mean wow! Did you watch the Burton US Open and did you see with your own eyes how the game was changed forever? First off we had Taku Hiraoka and the rest of the Halfpipe squad going absolutely mental. But the big show had to go to the new phenom, Yuki Kadono in the Slopestyle event. Marc McMorris was his usual incredible self, but even he could not stop Yuki from winning, when the kid was dropping back to back 1620’s. Watch his run and realise that Pro Snowboarding has just gone up a level once again. Then watch the finals highlights from both the Halfpipe and Slopestyle and be amazed by the level across both the women’s and men’s events. Simply blows my mind!

Burton Presents – The Teaser

There are some things that simply don’t change. One of them, is that if you have the biggest and most bad ass Snowboard team on the planet, you will also produce the most bad ass videos! Burton do have the biggest team in Snowboarding, with literally a who’s who of the biggest name riders. So they have decided to do a new web series showcasing this talent, starting on the 16 September 2014. You can be sure of finding those videos right here. I am pretty dam excited!

Introducing Burton Presents, a nine part web series showcasing Burton’s top riders. Watch Mikey Rencz riding with Jussi Oksanen, Jeremy Jones alongside Mikkel Bang, Mark Sollors with Alek Oestreng, Kelly Clark with Enni Rukajärvi and Chloe Kim, and Zak Hale trading hits with Ethan Deiss. Mark McMorris and Kimmy Fasani will be featured in individual parts, and the series will also include an exclusive look into Danny Davis’ Peace Park. Dropping every two weeks starting September 16, 2014.

Burton presents Backcountry – Free Snowboard Film

On Friday I brought you the trailer for the first of a series of short films by Burton, Backcountry. Here is the film for your enjoyment. I loved it. Great cast, epic backcountry Pow and a good soundtrack.

This episode takes you deep into the mountains of British Columbia, the Pacific Northwest, Switzerland, and beyond. Featuring the riding of Jussi Oksanen, Terje Haakonsen, Jeremy Jones, Nicolas Müller, Mikey Rencz, and Mark Sollors, BACKCOUNTRY highlights heavy riding on massive cheesewedges, natural big mountain lines, hairy cliff drops, and soft landings. The Friday Mix – Burton Backcountry, Bearclaw MTB and Mavericks with Grant Twig Baker

See how the athletes thrive and survive at this contest with the final showdown on the horizon.

Lastly take a trip into the heaving waters at Mavericks with South African big wave surfer, Grant Twig Baker showing why he is one of the best in the business! The guy takes such different lines to the other surfers and really shows what the paddle potential is at one of the world’s gnarliest waves…
