Darkfest 2017 – Official Video of Insanity

Good Lord, I thought I would have gotten used to the insanity of Darfest after seeing it for myself, but one watch of this video and it all came crashing back down. Seriously, if you are not at this event next year, you are missing out on the most crazy thing you will ever see in South Africa. So sit back, down a tequila and prepare for Darkfest insanity…

The Fest Crew made their way down to South Africa to take on the infamous Pure Darkness jumps. Sam Reynolds, with the help of Nico Vink & Clemens Kaudela, revived the beasts and added a few more to the party and what a party it was! In true Fest fashion, these boys went faster, higher and bigger than ever! With features like a 60ft roll in, 55ft gaps and a 35ft lip that sends you 25ft into the air it is definitely not one to be missed!

Record Breaking Jaws Surf – 4k Video

On Friday the game was changed at Jaws with one of the biggest and most perfect swells ever ridden in surfing. A huge crowd of chargers took it on, with a solid crew of Safa chargers, like Josh Redman in the mix. (Check him in the video.) Aaron Gold from the North Shore is being credited with possibly the biggest wave ever paddled into. Below is the video, with no music, which is actually super rad as you get a feel for what it is like up on the cliff watching live.

Travis Pastrana has lost his mind!

It has finally happened, Travis Pastrana has lost his mind! Not content with all the crazy firsts he already has to his name, now he wants the first FMX Front Flip and the first Triple Flip, which he needs the biggest kicker ever built…

Trav gets his friends (and a sheriff with a radar gun) out to test the biggest ramps ever conceived and constructed at Pastranaland. Featuring James Foster, Steve Mccann and Jolene Van Vugt.

Longest Dirt to Dirt MTB Backflip with Cam Zink

Mammoth was the site of yet another Monster Energy athlete world-breaking victory where Cam Zink stomped an official Guinness World Record for the longest dirt-to-dirt mountain bike backflip launching 100 feet 3 inches from a 15-foot-high dirt ramp to a 25-foot-high landing where he reached speeds of up to 46 mph to beat his previous record.

Going huge on a mountain bike is second nature to Zink, 28, who continues to progress the limitless possibilities by defining the future of mountain biking. He previously landed a 78-foot step-down backflip at one of the world’s premier freeride mountain bike events. For today’s official Guinness World Record, Zink upped the ante to 100-feet, three inches ensuring authenticity in the set up that he designed and was built by the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park team at Mammoth’s Canyon Lodge. Instead of the step-down setup and wood ramp from his previous record, he opted for a more purist approach with a dirt-to-dirt gap jump on level ground with the start of the landing area 80-feet from the takeoff for good measure.

Scary Skeleton Bay with Matt Bromley

The whole world seemed to be going, the parking looked like Cavendish Mall and the swell arrived bigger than ever. Matt Bromley was there with camera guy, Steve Michelson in tow, to capture one of the biggest days ever surfed at Donkey Bay. Many tales of horrid thrashings came out from this day and of people being sucked off the beach by rogue white waters. So all in all it was a difficult day for both surfers and the media guys. I reckon the boys are pretty happy with the results though.
