Darkfest Week 2 Build
As the DarkFEST prelude continues, the second week of building the course has come to a close. If you thought they made good progress in the first week, it looks like the boys were just getting warmed up!
Rain, wonderful Rain
With the Western Cape having the worst drought in history, water has been unavailable for the build. So it was a huge relief when the rain arrived in week 2 to assist the build. Not many sports want rain, but for dirt building water is essential.
Save the Dates
With the Darkfest course coming together beautifully, you can be sure that the main event is going to be outrageous. Make sure you have no plans for Friday, 9th February. The annual, Dawn of the Dirt, the rise of Hellsend, goes down at the Hellsend compound outside Stellenbosch.
Then on Saturday, 10 February, all eyes will be on the Darkfest run as the World’s top freeride Mountain Bikers go ham. If you want your mind blown, you want to be there. Keep updated on the event on my Facebook page – Captain Kais World (I will also be doing live interviews with the athletes and of the runs.)

Freeriding Hellsend Park
When Sam Reynolds, Nico Vink and Clemens Kaudela are not hard at work on the mountain, they are looking for the best local spots to enjoy. This week they had a great time at the neighbouring Hellsend compound. Getting some warm up runs in before the Dawn of the Dirt.
Week 2 Video
Have a look what they’ve been getting up to on the Vuurberg farm in Stellenbosch in the second instalment of their weekly DarkFEST build videos. Keep posted for Week 3 – it is going to be crazy mad!
